From Scotland to the Hamptons!
The Holiday season is upon us!
I am reflecting back on a very full year and excited to share some highlights. Pictured above is a large in-progress commission for a new building in a medical campus in Denver, CO. Very exciting! This photo also featuring my husband and son will be published in a forthcoming article about my work. Details soon!
My new paintings “Fantasy Garden I”, “Fantasy Garden II” (Pictured above), “Siberian Irises”, and “Jillian” made their debut in the Hamptons October 7th-8th at the “Beauty in the Hamptons” exhibit via the Windows to the Divine foundation. The show was for one weekend only and hosted in a beautiful historic home in Amagansett, NY. I’ve been immersing myself in creating elaborate floral compositions from many sources I have collected from our own garden as well as many other locations over the years; a pure celebration of form, color, shape, texture, and pattern. It’s a way of planting my dream garden, but in paint! Painting these flowers larger than life makes them extra engaging.
All have sold except for “Fantasy Garden II”(48”x30”, oil on canvas) (composition with sunflower and hollyhocks). Please contact me if interested.
My husband Quang Ho and I taught a 10-day workshop and art retreat together in Scotland in July! We had a wonderful group of students and savored the breathtaking landscapes of Scotland, especially the rugged beauty of the highlands and the Isle of Skye. Scotland’s history, land, and people are all so inspiring. Below are photos of my demos for students, painting the local landscapes and gardens in Angus where the workshop was hosted.
All of my paintings from the Scotland workshop have sold, but if you’d like to see other small works and studies for sale, please visit my website store .
Lastly, I had the pleasure of chatting with Jeff Hein on his podcast “The Undraped Artist”. Here’s our fun meandering conversation about art and life. Or search for The Undraped Artist wherever you listen to podcasts.
